How beautiful are these peony arrangements and how fabulous would one of these photographs be blown up and displayed on a wall? You could have peonies year round!
Happy weekend!

Not normally a purple person, I have seen some of the prettiest shades of lilac and heather purple lately… seems very fresh and pretty for spring!
Certainly a departure from your ordinary grocery store rose colors!
Who would ever think purple curtains in a dining room could ever be so elegant? I love the muted tone of these by Pamela Pierce.
This pop of color makes the room seem so current!
One last shot of a pretty table scape with pretty flowers!

I have wanted to pull out the straggly weed-like lantana that ran the perimeter of our backyard since we moved into our house several years ago. Everyone has the reaction of “Oh lantana, why do you hate it, I LOVE it!” Our lantana was not pretty nor sweet- it was beastlike. It overtook everything and looked like a dead weed most of the time. A few weekends ago we finally removed every last trace of the stuff, including it’s monstrous roots (this was very old lantana!). In it’s place, we planted the rose bushes I’d been envisioning for several years. I am so happy to finally have my own cutting garden!
I planted a mixture of white, pink and mango-ish peach roses (Secret’s Out, Queen Elizabeth, Falling in Love and Valencia to be exact).
We happened to have two loner rose bushes in our front yard, a bright pink and a mauvey purple (I think this is the Barbra Streisand rose) that had some blossoms too. These colors aren’t my favorites but they smell divine.
Happy weekend!
Flowers. These sure have been on my mind, in my hands, and all over my kitchen for the last week!
I have started arranging wedding flowers and just completed my second wedding. Of course I am biased, but I think flowers are one of the most special details of a wedding design, or any event design for that matter!
Caring for and arranging each bloom is a labor of love for me. As I happily arranged well into the night during the first wedding’s preparation my husband really thought I had lost it- two a.m. and I’m in the kitchen (or the mess of flowers, buckets, and vases that was formerly a kitchen) and smiling away as I worked. Literally.
The preparation for the next wedding went so smoothly that I even managed to get to the rehearsal dinner, and on time! Oh yeah, did I mention I was a guest at both weddings! Nothing like running around arranging vases on tables and then throwing on a dress at the last minute!
I can’t wait to see the photographers pictures. Mine are below…focus on the flowers not the photography!
The bride of this wedding is very elegant and natural, so her flowers had to be as well! A mix of gorgeous ivory blossoms and fresh greenery adorned each dining table.
The arrangement for the bride and grooms table is the most important one of course! This arrangement incorporated a few more flower varieties and was extra special.
Congratulations to my good friends C & A, now newlyweds! Thank you for letting me be a part of your special day! I loved every minute of the flower arranging as well as every minute of your fabulous wedding!
Still here, just got a little busy the last few weeks! Can you believe it’s already March!
With spring right around the corner, a little light pink seems just right!
Ahhhh, serenity!
Love this sophisticated and modern interior by Gerrie Bremermann as featured on Cote de Texas.
Vicente Wolf add an earthy terracotta flower pot for the perfect dash of color and interest to this sleek bathroom.
Happy weekend!
Buying flowers is such a treat, and it’s even better when the bouquet can be split into pretty little arrangements that can be scattered around the house.
Happy Weekend!
Winter or summer, masses of lavender always look beautiful (and smell amazing!)…
Wild and undeniably, absolutely amazing!
Vicki Archer lets us in on her summer view in her new book French Essence. That intoxicating color! Those snow capped mountains! Does it get any more gorgeous than this?!?
Happy Weekend!

Pardon the looooooooooong absence! Still alive and kicking over here! The past few months have certainly been busy! A very happy and even busier baby and almost full time design work haven't left much time for blogging… but the holiday season is always a fun time for both design and blogs- there’s just so much to see and talk about! So hopefully posting will be a little more regular around here, meaning more than 1 post every 3 months!
Exactly three weeks ago, this little guy arrived in our lives…
My mother was visiting during his arrival and besides doing everything under the sun for me, she also went to work on floral arrangements around the house! Please visit anytime Mom :)
I was given a gorgeous Asian motif porcelain bowl by a client, and it soon overflowed with with Pottery Barn’s very real looking faux roses.
Behind the roses sits my other new acquisition- an antique French wine bottle rack that I’ve been lusting after ever since I saw them decorated as Christmas Trees last winter. This one is thanks to my sweet husband who gave it to me for having our little guy… not your typical baby gift but perfect for a design loving mama like me.
Some cheerful Gerber daisies brighten the living room.
My mom relocated my moss filled vases from an obscure location in the house and matched them with a mossy orchid my sisters sent to me.
My photography skills (or lack of) are doing this arrangement no favors! She surprised me with a beautiful worn Asian style wood planter filled with gorgeous white orchids (my fave!) as a Mother’s Day present. I’m in floral heaven!
(and once these are no longer blooming, I might replace them with some of these )
And of course, she didn’t leave the outdoors untouched! My pots now look much prettier filled with purple pincushions and bright green ferns!
And the lantern that she brought home from Pottery Barn with the faux roses looks fab too!
So in addition to loads of baby gear, diapers, and a sweet little baby boy my house is overflowing with flowers! I’m missing my flower lovin mama but I love seeing her arrangements every day!
Have a happy weekend!
